Parking is available at two nearby public car parkings:

 

  • Q Park – Albion Street, 37 - Glasgow Candleriggs Parking 

  • NCP – Glassford Street - Glasgow The Glasshouse NCP Car Park

 

The hotel validates parking for both Q Park and NCP on the day of the event, however accommodation must be pre-booked.

The Key Note Speaker:
Professor Roger Willey, CEO, ACS Learning and Consultancy Ltd

Roger is a recognised expert on asbestos, hazardous materials, and health, safety, and environmental issues with over 46 years of industry experience. He has advised policymakers within the UK, Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, and currently advises at Government level in Chile. His asbestos research has directly influenced UK policy and legislation. Roger has a reputation for being pragmatic in his approach to ‘real risk vs perceived risk’ in the asbestos industry. Roger and his team have helped numerous organisations - including NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, Private Schools, and Housing Associations develop robust Asbestos Management Systems.

Emma Willey, Managing Director, ACS Learning and Consultancy Ltd

With three decades in the Health & Safety industry, Emma is a key player in addressing Real Risk vs. Perceived Risk, particularly in asbestos remedial works. As a founding Director of the ACS Group, her journey has evolved from asbestos site technician to Managing Director in April 2023. Holding a degree in Mathematics and Management from St Andrews University, Emma's career spans every role in asbestos testing, with significant contributions to residential, commercial, and industrial settings. She is also actively developing wellbeing management systems for the asbestos industry.

Eddie Duffy, Senior Fire Risk Consultant, ACS Learning & Consultancy Ltd

Eddie is the lead Fire Safety Consultant at ACS and the go-to expert for anything fire-related. He holds a degree in Occupational Health & Safety Management and qualifications as an OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor, Clerk of Works, and Fire Risk Assessor. Eddie specializes in fire safety, conducting risk assessments and fire investigations, and has been delivering fire safety training for the past 12 years. He is a certified member of IOSH and a member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (MIFSM).
