Seminar Highlights

The "Managing Changing Risks in Asbestos, Fire, and Health" seminar, held on Wednesday, 18th September at the Swansea.com Stadium, was a tremendous success. The event began with a welcome from Kay Barnes, Chair of the South and West Wales Safety Group, followed by an engaging keynote address from Professor Roger Willey, who explored recent changes in health and safety legislation. This was followed by insightful presentations on practical fire management by Eddie Duffy and an eye-opening session on the real vs. perceived risks of asbestos, once again led by Professor Willey.

The afternoon sessions focused on emerging health and safety issues in the workplace, delivered by Emma Willey, and the importance of embedding mental health and wellbeing into corporate culture, led by Martyn Wagstaff of Tata Steel UK. The seminar provided ample opportunities for networking and interactive Q&A sessions, which allowed delegates to deepen their understanding of critical safety topics. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the quality of the presentations and the valuable insights gained throughout the day.
