Welcome to the 4i website for the 4i-ACS Performance Improvement Program

Tutorial
What is the 4i program?

The University Of Virginia School Of Medicine is pleased to invite you to participate in an innovative study on the treatment of patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). We are currently recruiting cardiologists and interventional cardiologists nationwide. The goal of this program is to review current ACS treatment practices and to identify opportunities for performance improvement.

By completing this Performance Improvement Program on Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), participants will be able to:

  1. apply the current guidelines for the management of STEMI and non-STEMI ACS, as well as results from recent clinical trials;
  2. implement tests and procedures used to diagnose ACS, including ECG;
  3. select appropriate medications for use in hospital and at discharge for treating ACS patients (aspirin, beta blockers, statins, thienopyridines, fibrinolytic therapy);
  4. describe the role of patient education and risk factor modifications in cardiac rehabilitation (e.g., smoking cessation, lipid control, hypertension control).

Target Audience:

This activity is intended for cardiologists and interventional cardiologists.
